Intro
The text was an extract from A Quiet Place. The film makers wanted to show that the town was desolated, and the streets were quiet and empty, they also wanted to show that the characters (the family) were alone and only had eachother.
Paragraph
The town is shown to be desolated and barren. The sounds played were only the wind blowing, leaves rustling and newspaper/posters on walls and poles rustling because of the wind; It tells the audience that other than those sounds there is absolutely nothing in the streets (e.g. people and animals). The camera angles, like longshots and extreme longshots, of the environment and the characters (the only few people present in the town) makes the audience feel like the town is huge yet so empty, and makes the character look small and alone in it. There was also the camera movement trucking, it followed the youngest child (one of the characters) out of the store, and it shows the empty and barren environment around him as he walks. The messy and unmaintained condition of the store that the characters were in shows signs of abandoment and neglect, implying either that no one has been there for a long time or that the few who do visit the store never takes care of the store, and just loots the stuff from it.
